Did You Know?

fleetwood mac concert

…that Stevie Nicks is 64 years old, turning 65 on Sunday, and can still rock the pants off of a 19,000 seat stadium?  Well she can and I saw it live and in action yesterday at the Fleetwood Mac concert at HP Pavilion in San Jose.  The show was incredible and they sang some of my all time favorites! What made this concert remarkably special to me is how emotional Stevie and Lindsey became as they thanked the audience for the 30+ years of support.  They were so humble and so genuine in their gratitude that it moved the entire crowd.   Before joining Fleetwood Mac, the two met and attended Menlo Atherton High School, which is literally just down the street from my job, so for them this is where it all began!

It’s no secret that Stevie struggled with addiction for many years so to see her dancing around that stage and singing her heart out made me realize that if she can overcome that, we can truly do anything we put our minds to.

And to put the final touch on a perfect evening…, Mr. Mick Fleetwood himself, the amazing drummer for the band, said, “I have one sentiment I want to share with you all:  BE… KIND… TO…ONE…ANOTHER!”  Sometimes it’s the little things we need to be reminded of.

I leave you with the lyrics of one of my favorite Fleetwood Songs.

If you wake up and don’t want to smile,
If it takes just a little while,
Open your eyes and look at the day,
You’ll see things in a different way.

Don’t stop, thinking about tomorrow,
Don’t stop, it’ll soon be here,
It’ll be, better than before,
Yesterday’s gone, yesterday’s gone.

Why not think about times to come,
And not about the things that you’ve done,
If your life was bad to you,
Just think what tomorrow will do.

Don’t stop, thinking about tomorrow,
Don’t stop, it’ll soon be here,
It’ll be, better than before,
Yesterday’s gone, yesterday’s gone.

    • It was incredibly awesome. Let’s just say I’ve been singing Rhiannon, Gypsy and the Chain all day!
They’ll be back in Sacramento later this summer, so there’s another chance to go!
